At PetSmart Charities, we believe every animal deserves high-quality medical care and love. That’s why we’re pleased to support Bella SPCA, an Oklahoma City-based nonprofit organization that provides medical care and protection for animals in need.
According to Bob Tootle,a district leader with PetSmart, the mission of Bella SPCA is impactful.
“They assist low-income, elderly and terminally ill pet owners with the cost of veterinary care,” he said.
For Victoria Aubert, executive director of Bella SPCA, unaffordable veterinary care is a major problem within the community.
“Every year, thousands of animals die because the people who love them cannot financially absorb the cost of veterinary care,” she said. “At The Bella Foundation, we believe every animal deserves to receive the best possible care regardless of the ability to pay.”
Providing Comprehensive Care
“Every animal adopted into a loving home by Bella is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, heartworm-tested, and microchipped. This gives them the best possible start in their new life,” said Aubert.
One dog helped by Bella SPCA is JoyBugg. When she arrived at the shelter, her coat was matted, her tail was tucked between her legs, and she was shivering and scared. After her first grooming, she was terrified and couldn’t sleep. With lots of love from her foster dad, she slowly came out of her shell and began to trust. Her foster parent fell in love with her, and he became a “foster fail” — meaning, he became her forever home.
Thanks to the hard work of Bella SPCA workers, volunteers, and foster families, animals like JoyBugg get the care and attention they so desperately need.
